Program Information
UAlbany students participating on programs administered by other 4-year SUNY campuses must be registered at UAlbany while studying abroad. All your credits and course equivalents will be managed through the Office of International Education located in Science Library G40.
UAlbany students studying on programs administered by SUNY Community Colleges or non-SUNY schools must follow the rules for transfer credit, and, if studying for a semester or longer, also apply for a Leave for Approved Study through the office of the Dean of Undergraduate Education.

Academics
Students participating on programs administered by other 4-year SUNY campuses will remain registered at UAlbany and will be earning Albany credits automatically. Students participating on other programs will be earning credits that must be accepted for transfer by UAlbany.
With proper approvals, credits earned while studying abroad may be counted toward your major, minor, or general education requirements in addition to counting toward the 120 credits required for graduation.
Students participating on programs administered by other 4-year SUNYcampuses should follow the procedures in the General Information Handbook and use the Preliminary Approval Form. Students participating on programs adminstered by SUNY Community Colleges and non-SUNY schools should follow UAlbany's procedures for transfer credit.

UALbany hosts a general orientation session prior to your departure, and we are available to assist you at all times. Program-specific questions should be answered by the administering campus and the staff at your overseas site.

Housing information is program-specific. Please consult the campus that is administering your program for details.

Costs
If you are attending a program administered by another 4-year SUNY, you will be registered at UAlbany and will pay regular SUNY tuition here. Otherwise, you will pay tuition as directed by the administering campus. All other expenses will be paid either to the school which is administering your program or to the provider of the services you are purchasing.
