Academic Program

ESCI-UPF is an international business school, therefore, the courses offered focus on international economics, business, communication, marketing, and related business topics. ESCI follows a trimester system. You will take an average of 20 ECTS credits per trimester, which equates to 10 SUNY credits. Therefore, in the fall semester at ESCI (1st trimester), you only would earn approximately 10 SUNY credits. UAlbany is not currently offering this program in the fall term; you can only participate for the spring term. In the spring semester, you would be expected to study at ESCI for both the 2nd and 3rd trimester (January-June), earning 12-19 SUNY credits.

Course Descriptions and Syllabi

The languages of instruction are Catalan, Spanish, and English. You should look at the language of instruction for each course you select.
If you go to ESCI-UPF for the second and third trimester, you should be taking most of your courses in the second trimester and one or two in the third trimester. The reason for this is that there are not many courses offered in the third trimester.
Your classes will consist of learning through lectures, case studies, team assignments, presentations and required readings.
Review ESCI-UPF's website for more information regarding course offerings.

General Education Information for UAlbany Students

All courses taken abroad count towards UAlbany General Elective credits. Credits and grades will appear on your UAlbany transcript. You may file a request to have additional courses approved for equivalency as necessary.
